Yachtie transferring to Singapore

Hi all,

I'm transferring from Dubai to a new post in Singapore/Batam but based and living on Batam. I have a 85ft modern classic style ketch that I will be shipping down in the new year for my sometimes live aboard and local dive/sailing cruising.
My previous sailing experience has been Aegean solo or crewing in NZ, Australian and PNG waters, none at all in the SE Asia region.

Any advice or heads up on things to be aware of, good and bad areas and be awares with local port authorities etc would be much appreciated.

I have an extensive background as superyacht project manager/engineer on new builds, refits and conversions so if anyone needs assistance,
crack a flare.

Boat yards or Marinas in Malaysia near Singapore

Hello,
From the Noonsite Malaysia page:

"There are several small boatyards, often with their own slips, on both coasts of the peninsula but as they are used to working on local craft, standards are not high."

I am looking for a boatyard or marina where I can leave my 31 foot boat for 5 months, mid-September to mid-February. I am looking for a place where I can leave the boat "on the hard" or as they call it over there; dry storage or dry birthing. Hope to find a place around Singapore but in Malaysia.
Any ideas?
